Sometime in the future, action will be taken to provide the coastal area
between the Manatee and Myakka rivers with rail transportation , unlimited
water resources , affordable housing to the blue collar population , affordable healthcare for the needy and elderly, free access and use to public beach facilities,
an air service operating as the hub of the district and a property
and use tax structure that will provide a perpetual budget surplus....as part of a beginning anyway.
ACTION IS THE KEY FACTOR, ACTION FUELED BY THE GREATER STORE OF
HUMAN UNDERSTANDING WE HAVE ATTAINED BY REJECTING THE NEED TO
REACT TO THE PROXIMAL WORLD SURROUNDING US.
Common sense says that the failure to meet any of the needs of the vibrant,
vital, life giving forces outlined above will relegate the Sarasota
cosmopolitan area to a dieing retirement nirvana.
Sure ! you say ; but what about the thousands of students requiring new class
rooms entering the area every year ? What about the automobile traffic gridlock
increasing beyond tolerance daily ? What about the total lack of affordable housing
driving the very life-force army of employees into far-off places to live ? What
about the ........... ? and the ........... ?
Well I am so glad you asked....Why ? Well if anyone takes the time and energy to dig out
the news and issues of the day June 2004 or February 2003 or April 2002 or November
2001 they will discover that no , ABSOLUTELY NO , human understanding has passed
the test in facilitating action upon our challenges in such a way that results in
2001 differing from results achieved in 2005. I can gurantee that the issues of the day
I speak of above, as seen in our local newspaper, are exactly what you will see in
yesterday's Herald Tribune !!!!!!!!! Or in the Gulf Coast Business Alliance newsletters
of the same years.
It shocked me to see this as I reviewed old issues of the newspaper.....but only for
a very,very short time . It was then that I realized, in this world of smoke and
mirrors, delivered so gratuitously by our national and local media, almost noone has
either the time or wherewithal to pursue the greater store of human understanding
necessary for bonifide ,logistical, effective action to make a twit of difference
in the future we will have to live with. That leaves you and me in a world of
words that ultimately have no meaning , no significance other than that which
results in someone acting upon them.....NOT REACTING.
Are you prepared to act on your behalf and create the future you want rather than
someone, anyone,everyone else determining how you will live (or not live)
ten or twenty years out ????
