I have been hesitant these past few weeks to continue
my comments in reference to the last statements I made....going after some of your misappropriated money..
So, why not just brainstorm for a bit and see if anything
comes up that might be meaningful.
I would say first, as represented in the voter turn-out for
commissioners, that the reference in previous pages of wsrq to the repetition of newsworthy information, relavent issues facing the financiers of Sarasota , and how we prepare to deal with the many crisis facing us has not changed dramatically!!
In fact Mr. Rudolph and Mr.Haskell characterize the
situation better than I had..."Its a dirty filthy crime"," I declare that gorillas, dogs, monkeys and jack-asses
could not do worse that these people have done in Sarasota." " Point being that Sarasota citizens had not organized to voice their opinions regarding
the proposals to separate the central city from the waterfront. "
My 2005 brainstorming tells me that the reference to
simian intelligence being manifested in 1958 in regard to this issue is exactly what the people of Sarasota are suffering today 2005. .........
There will always be "places" for fools to spend their
money shopping for Chinese goods and places for
the affluent to congregate to share their "privilege" status ....(I think that is what the latest news regarding a local developer is going to provide in some new revitalized downtown Sarasota .)
EVERYTHING THIS CITY GOVERNMENT WILL ALLOW
OR PROVIDE FOR SARASOTA RESIDENTS IS A MEANS FOR THEM TO SPEND THEIR MONEY . THERE IS A TOTAL LACK OF INITIATIVE IN PROVIDING A WAY THE CITY OF SARASOTA WILL EVER COMMIT TO HAVING VISITORS WITHOUT THE DEEPEST OF POCKETS OR FOR THAT MATTER
RESIDENTS WITHOUT INVESTMENT PORTFOLIOS
PROVIDING EXTRATERRESTIAL CREDIT LIMITS
COME TO THE "CITY AND ENJOY BEING THERE".
Why ? because Sarasoto downtown is no more than
Deland or Cross City or Eva or Brooksville etc., without
a waterfront to share with the prospective working-for-
-a-living resident.....We dont have that waterfront so why target the middle-class ????
Add to that the fact that our waterfront access will eventually be alloted to rich condominium owners and
apartment owners, our publicly owned property will
be designated parking for "convention" facilities and
public marina facilities (just see what is happening to "Marina Jack Private Development Initiative") will be a
thing of history.
Any more brainstorming will get nasty ,I feel, so this is
enough for those who care to do something..ANYTHING . TODAY .

Having not registered this site in a search engine makes it very difficult to generate an audience.
Yet all one has to do today Sunday May 1,2005 is check out four or five of our largest nearby Sunday publications to discover dozens of reports and editorials addressing the vital challenges facing all of us today and in the near/far future.
What I fear most, as a result of reading many of these
accounts of how our governments plan to maintain a
quality of live for us that is worth investing in, is not that
they are pursuing methods and management skills
which save or reduce the taxpayers burdens ;
RATHER THAT THEY BASE ALL PREMISES ON THE
KNOWLEDGE THAT THE MONEY WILL ALWAYS BE
THERE TO SPEND ! IF IT IS NOT THERE IN TIME TO
FUND THEIR LATEST SCHEME THEY SIMPLY IMPLIMENT MEANS TO GENERATE IT IN THE LEAST
PAINFUL WAY !
Just ask yourself a very very simple question :
Why are our rulers getting column inches on the front page of our Sarasota paper this week to postulate
how /when/ if/ they will spend hundreds of millions of your dollars on 5 or 10 new travel lanes from north or mid district to south or south-south district..near east Sarasota or South Orlando to North Charlotte or Naples ????
My answer to that is that it is all SMOKE AND MIRRORS ! .......
Rhetoric to obfuscate the fact that in last weeks front
page it was column inches showing how they could
spend hundreds of millions of your dollars for the
bicyclist's travel lanes from mid Sarasota to Venice.
Understand these "improvements" will all come to
fruition ! With or without these particular elected or appointed officials; with or without front page paper
coverage;with or without the money required to build
a "better" Sarasota these projects need ; a way will be
created by our rulers to take that money from you in the least painful way and be spent .
Ask anyone if they may know of way to rectify North Ports funding/infrastructure shortfalls in providing for more people to move more demands on the quality of life to our area WITHOUT taking more money from you!
I use the term ruler quite freely without hesitation :
RULER ...A person exercising dominion (government) .
DOMINION ... Sovereignty ; control .
We have numerous was to slow and then take control
of the life-force which is now being lost to the people
and future generations of Sarasotans.
